The recruitment process to select candidates for supported senior board level opportunities is now open.
The pilot non-executive director (NED) ‘matching’ and mentoring scheme for the nuclear industry and related supply chain is now looking for suitably, experienced women to step forward.
Sarah Macdonald, is part of the WiN UK team setting up the scheme. She said: “WiN UK is driving hard to increase the proportion of more women in senior management. Increasing the number of female NEDs will help ensure nuclear businesses benefit from more diverse leadership which can lead to better performance.
“Although there is no set profile for the role, successful candidates could include existing leaders with proven business experience, leaders seeking to return to work after a career break, or middle managers aspiring to step up to a new level.
“We are also still looking to recruit mentors and more businesses, so please get in touch if you’re interested.”
The WiN-NED initiative supports the organisation’s key target – to increase the proportion of women in senior management to 30% by 2030 (currently the industry average is 13%).
Successful candidates will receive training and mentoring and hold a NED board position for a year. In turn they would be expected to act as a mentor the following year to help develop future NEDs.
The closing date for applications is Monday July 31st.
